What if any pop up spring for a 6 pak hood is everyone using ?

I think he's talking bout the spring that pops the hood up once you release the first latch for the hood.

The one that is mounted on radiator support that pops open the hood when released

Take it off and throw it away.

It will wear a hole in the fiberglass.
