Decent power is an understatement..I'd say thats downright kickass...hope you get to feeling better..I know what would make me feel better if I had them heads in my garage..lol..
Hope your feeling better too Jim.
Buwaaahhhaaa... Jim and Cody are working my new Victor heads in his shop right now!!
We just cleaned them up for MT_Mopar's street 440, 566/LB-FT @ 3,700 rpm and 544 HP @ 5,500 rpm. 500 lb-ft @ 3,200 rpm and 510 lb-ft @ 5,600 rpm. His engine is still making 543 HP @ 5,800 rpm where we shut it down. These are the flows.

If he wants to change his valve springs and then the cam from a hydraulic flat tappet to a solid roller he can have over 700 HP.
It is setting on an engine stand in a dark corner of the shop, same build as it was in post #129. We just took it off the dyno and rolled it over there. What ever became of Pops 440?
Forgot to report in this thread that the 440 above actually made 595 HP at 6,500 rpm during these tests.I've got a cold and feeling phewy so I'm going home and going to bed.
With the EZ heads, Edelbrock Victor intake, 850 carb and XE285HL cam she went 548 TQ and 588 HP @ 6400 RPM.
423 TQ @ 3000 rpm, 508 TQ @ 3500 RPM, 527 TQ @ 4000 RPM, 548 TQ @ 5200 RPM. 585 HP @ 6000 RPM.
Decent power out of giant heads and a small cam.
Would you guess that the RPM heads would do about the same?Forgot to report in this thread that the 440 above actually made 595 HP at 6,500 rpm during these tests.
These were ported Indy EZ heads.Would you guess that the RPM heads would do about the same?
Right now, I’m looking at having Indy Cylinder Heads do a full port and polish on them. Just curious if the pick up is going to be worth the cost. My bottom end is a clone/copy of your “pop’s” 440. I actually used that build as the foundation for mine. These were ported Indy EZ heads.
Who is preparing the RPM heads? Ask them.
I really don't like to guess and so try to only report on what I have actually done. As I have not tested any RPM heads under similar circumstances, I do not know their capability here. Now having been there.....I do know that super prepped RPM heads will make 787 HP on a normally aspirated, single 4-bbl 451 with 91 octane pump gas.

Thanks Rob but the 451 is sitting outside in the shop truck at -15F this morning. The firewood is so cold I can't get it to ignite in the wood burning stove. HAH!I'm still lookin for UPS to drop that off. Ain't seen it yet. LOL You and your brood having a nice Christmas I hope.

Most of the information you seek is contained in posts 2 & 7 of this thread. As to the distributor springs that is unknown. The ignition timing.....I probably would have started with that cam at 20 degrees initial and a total of about 38. The dyno sheets would have the exact information and they were burned a long time ago.IQ52, On your pops engine with the 2355 pistons, was the block decked or was it still original and also, when you were testing the 346 heads on it in this thread, were they milled at all and can you tell me what initial and total timing it liked and what springs you used in the distributor? I have the same lower end with 2355's and 452 heads!
