Positive Battery Cable Connections for 71 340 Demon

I just purchased a new pos battery cable for my 71 Demon and was looking for someone who has a pic of the connections next to the battery. Mine has an extra black cable lead at the top close to the battery post that the old cable did not have.

This is the best I have for photos of my 1972 Dodge Dart.

An extra small "black" negative cable goes to the nut plate at radiator support near the backside of the headlight.

But he said the (Positive) cable not the Negative

Here is a picture of the new Positive cable and the black lead with the spade connector that I'm not sure where it connects to.

And it looks like the cable clamp is upside down on the battery post.

The black cable should connect at the small stud at the starter and at the "square screw" connection on your starter relay

The extra, smaller red should connect to the "big stud" on your starter relay

And ALWAYS remember---black is not necessarily ground. It is NEVER ground in AC wiring, and "sometimes" not ground in other / auto wiring. (The output of your alternator is black)

That black wire goes on the connection that has the flat headed screw.

Got it thanks. The old pos cable had a green wire going to that flat headed screw plate. The new cables lead is black. Thanks again for everyone’s help!
