Maybe it was The Dukes and that nostalgia that made me grow to love him, but in my adult life I grew to love Waylon Jennings and Outlaw Country and the folk legends that made it all happen. Today's pop country music has no soul. Soul in music is darn near everything that matters.

Ken Burns did a documentary called "The History of Country Music". I believe it was 7 parts long and each one covered a decade starting in the 1940's. Aired on PBS and it was very well done. Quick search and I don't see it viewable except through PBS but keep an eye out for it. Highly recommended.
