Yes it was a Hemi Cuda. Gary Ostrich did experimental engine work for Chrysler Corp. He sold the Cuda to Jack Briner who raced it for a few years.

My ex-GTX with previous to me owner at the helm....around 1976....fibreglass front end & bumper....amazing the guy kept all the original sheet-metal together. He was a very disorganised man.

Dad would have run my car with a tunnel rammed 340 with a large home made scoop. It should stand out like a sore thumb based on how he has explained it. Or, after that motor let loose, he put in the 440. The announcer made a big deal about a 440 in a Demon, the crowd came over to see it. None were impressed as it wasn't a show piece, just a racer.
@408 swinger here's a few more photos of Gary O's Cuda. It was quite the show piece. Gary sold it to Jack Briner here in town and bought a funny car to race instead. I remember driving by Jack's house and seeing it in the driveway. Those were the days!
Wow, I keep finding more pics. Good thing to post them here. If my hard drive crashes they will still be here.
Does this car still exist? That would be cool as hell if it did, and in as pictured condition!
