Might be that your
Cookies and Or Temporary files on your computer are all loaded up, like a thousand of them in there. It's like a monkey on the back of the computer slowing everything down. Get some help from a Pro computer guy to show you how to clean them off, it's pretty easy once someone shows you the pathways to get it done. Then surprisingly, everything works better too.
Also have your computer turned on and online for a half an hour before you try to upload your photos. If you don't use your computer too often, first thing it does when you go online is it goes out and tries to bring in the latest updates from microsoft . . so you are competing with this for internet access . . microsoft usually wins til the updates are ready to install on your machine.
(One of my computers is a Linux System and running the Firefox web browser, about as simple and lean and mean as you can get. Not everyone knows what Linux is or how to get set up.)
One last thing is if you are using Internet Explorer web browser by microsoft it can bring in lots of adds and other crap competing with your online access. Try Firefox web browser my favorite, leaner and better performance, or even Google Chrome. Here again get a little help from a pro to put the new browser on and set it up if you are not familiar with how to do it.
You want a clean, mean, computer machine to get good things done. Also check you internet line speed at
Speedtest.net
A fair baseline for line speed to have things work good is:
3 Mbps download speed, and .500 Mbps Upload speed
for sending the pictures up to the internet.
Internet Speed Infrastructure is improving all the time and speeds of at least
5 Mbps down load and 1 Mbps uploads are becoming more common.
My line speeds are:
9.43 Mbps download and 2.92 upload speed, so kind of depends where your location is.
Having good line speed is what does the heavy lifting of moving the photo files over the internet.
Lets say a simple Word Document with some simple text has 100 pixels in size.
An average photo has 1,000 pixels in size so it takes more work to move the photo files, just to help you understand what you are dealing with. Good to have your computer tuned and working well to get the work done.
Hope this helps . . . Like your car photos, Thumbs Up !
