Well I decided after 10 years of manual steering that I will convert to power.

It's funny in a sense that alot of folks are going power to manual...

Here are some shots of the column rebuild. The entire column was disassembled, cleaned, media blasted, painted correct colors, and all parts replaced/rebuilt. New harness and lower bearing.

More to come on the kframe & steering box/pump/column install......

did you get all the lil parts for the column from the parts store to? or from like year one?

I got the turn signal switch and lower column bearing from Dante's parts. The rest of the column parts are reused and restored. I will be getting the coupler from Bouchillon Performance.

Was going thru old threads and realized that I never finished this one.....

Well here are some pics of the K frame that went in with the column rebuild and some of the installation of it in the car. It was welded up at pretty much every seam, and reinforced around the steering box, LCA holes, and strut rod bushings.

I also installed a set of rebuilt lower a arms, and cleaned up my spindles too.

everything looks great. i see that you rear mounted your calipers. swapping the spindles, caliper brackets and calipers i presume will do all this? for sway bar clearance, correct? instead of doing it that way, could i turn that sway bar tab upside down and shorten the spacer? i have the hellwig bar as well. nothing is installed yet. just seeing if there are other ways.

I just put back how I had it for years. I did initially put the calipers to the back for sway bar clearance. Can't say i your idea will work or not..

this piece....

does it just bolt in place?

on a column shift it has to move, on the later ignition lock columns it still has to move.

Gotcha. Yes the floor shift bolts into place with the 2 small square headed bolts that kinda grip the upper collar to hold it into place. The pic with the turn signal switch in it shows the 2 nuts below it that I am refering to.

can you post a picture of the gear indicator that clips onto the back of the column, i dont have one, and i wonder what it looks like, so i can find where to get it.
