Hey guys,

I have a 74 duster that needs a new steering box , it has a 318 with some headers so I was wondering if anyone had better ideas on which steering box would work to save room or if it's better to find a direct replacement for the stock one.

Thanks in advance

1- manual or power steering?
2- my vote (if power) is for Borgeson
lighter, tighter and quality fit. It cost more than a stock box but mine has been a great experience.

Yes sorry the power steering box, I was looking at borgeson as well, it was saying I had to cut the steering Shaft, how much did you have to take off to fit ? I can't find much info and if Im going to spend that much I want to make sure I'm prepared

Don't cut the steering shaft!
If I were going Borgeson, I would go with the Bergman Auto Craft adapter.

I changed mine recently (74 Duster 318, p/s) but I went with the Firm Feel Stage II.
I like it, but I've got stock manifolds, not headers.

The Borgeson might add some room for the headers, but it will require a little bit more work.
FWIW
