Prayers for Ryan Neuman

-
I wish the best for Ryan Newman and his family.

Not good news, his team just released a brief statement saying they have no updates at this time and asked everyone to pray. This via Twitter

The FOX article said NASCAR had the black curtains up so fans couldn't see them move him onto the stretcher. Sure doesn't sound good.

For the superspeedways, nascar should remove the bumpers. That would stop the bumpdrafting and wreckfests. Hope Ryan Newman is ok.

They did. Didn’t stop fans from the upper seats from getting close up pics. There’s a couple on Twitter that don’t look good. If this man lives, it’s a miracle.

they did that once... made it worse

Saw the wreck, had a sick feeling. Praying for Ryan and his family. Ryan is a tough dude.

That doesn't sound good.

This says it all, and we have remain quietly hopeful and respect it.

NASCAR to make an announcement in a few minutes.

Per NASCAR President. Ryan Newman is in serious condition undergoing treatment for multiple injuries, these injuries are thought to be not life threatening.

Sounds like he is at least alive!

Mentioned in the pickem thread that it was a vicious hit when it happened. Collapsed the A piller and roof line right into his drivers area.

Hope he pulls through this whatever the injuries. He one the real tough guys that drive now.

Nascar loves the bumping and stuff, but that blocking stuff has done a bunch of damage to many cars and drivers over the years... some fatal.

Well how bout that? He's gonna pull through. Those safety gizmos did their job.

It’s one thing to play bumper cars at 65-70 mph at Martinsville and another to do it at speeds in excess of 200 mph on the high banks of Daytona. That said, Daytona has claimed more lives than any other track, going all the way back, it’s nothing new. And if anything good can come of this, it’ll force NASCAR to re-examine safety again

If you ask the drivers, it's the restriction plates that are the problem. Thats how they get all bunched up with no real throttle control of the power. Makes for some interesting racing for sure.
