Pretty basic question

Ya, I’d have to say the 727 applications were all trucks.

I think there were some fleet/taxi versions with 727s, too. IIRC, early years used a smallblock 727 with an adapter plate, later years used a dedicated slant case.

Mostly 904's... A few 727's... Plus 3 & 4 spd manual...
Interesting...when I was a SR in H.S. I rebuilt a dozen mopar automatic transmissions in my vocational auto mechanic class and I thought at the time they were all 727's. The rebuild kits probably included both pan gaskets.

Got beat to it. Yes Taxi fleets depending on year had 727's.
Also later year slants got the A-999 with the locking converter and different gear ratios.

OP needs to realize that torqueflites come with different cases, AKA the entire main case. Slant, SB, B/RB for 727, and A904 for slant, SB, and that style bell for the newer Magnum and hemi engines.

But TF's were ALSO made to fit AMC and some other special applications. They were used in US Postal "whatever those" Jeeps were called, and I'm not too sure they weren't used behind the GM 4 whangers in that application. (Yup.....)

They were also made "I think" to fit IHC engines
