There is one on West Coast, a Dakota driven by Tom Mettler in Comp occasionally , I didn't see it out this year

Yes .. Comp .. S/S Trucks are different with a modified stock frame where as a P/S Truck is a tube chassis... I have always liked this truck that runs in S/S also from the west coast! I believe it was given to his late father ( Don Studley) from Chrysler to be built as a S/S truck he competed in it until he passed then his son Shane took over , he also does Cylinder headsIs it in a Comp class? I know they weren’t competitive. I thought they were going to be allowed to run GT but I’m not sure that ever happened.

When you say Baby Hemi, are you referring to the R4/P5 deal? When PST debuted, were they using more "conventional" small block type stuff? I use to know this. Can't for the life of me remember. The Mettlers are out of Bakersfield Ca......that Dakota is very competitive in Comp....has several national even wins plus a few runner ups...
Elite Motorsports is currently doing the R&D on the baby Hemi.....
I actually know this guy, being that he is apart of my family.I agree!!! the Pro Stock Trucks especially the Dakotas were so cool !!! and competitive, a guy here locally has one of Pattersons old Dakotas he races on occasion...still has the Mopar paint scheme and graphics and runs some sort of big block Mopar built by P/S racer Alan Prusiensky I believe....love that truck!!!

I gave up on the NHRA races years ago. It seems like they have an identity crisis and want to have the business of NASCAR with the excitement of heads up door car racing. If they start offering big pay outs for radial and small tire stuff I might get back into it.
Thanks for the pics Blitz ..I saw it at Island last year. .. man I love that truck!!!I gave up on National events when they moved from Columbus to Norwalk. I was able to make it from Heidelberg, PA to NTR in about 2 hours.
Loved the PS truck class as well, and hated that it died so soon. A Dodge Dakota won super stock at the New England Nationals this past weekend. It was an 80s model. Did wicked wheel stands off the line! Alan ran in PS but went out first round, broke something during the burnout and barely left the line. Though I really dislike the current state of PS 'camaro' the Cuadra team is running mustang bodies and Fernando Cuadra is starting to make some noise in the class. And I loved watching Erica take out Greg Anderson!
Yes.. his engines are being built by Frank Iaconio with some technical help from Elite, his shop is about fifteen miles from me here in North Jersey , my very close friend used to work for him as well as another person I know . There is an article in the latest National Dragster about the Cuadra familyNot positive but didn’t Cuadra give up on ford engines and go Chevy. I used to keep up with it on Yellowbullet but gave up.
