Problems with Leaf springs

Hi all

Just me with more frustrating issues with this Demon restoration

I know that the bolts for the leaf springs are 1/2 " but the bushing holes in my leafs are 5/8 " is this correct or must I exchange these out.

I'm really tired of getting the wrong Parts up here in Toronto

I had to drill mine out on the front mount for my HD springs.

What size bolts should I use and should they be grade 5 or 8 with a self locking nut

Sorry I don't remember. But the people who sold me the springs also sold me hardware including the bolt and even what size drill bit I would need. I'll see if I can look it up.

evidently all the replacement springs have a 5/8 or .625 diameter hole, and yes self locking nuts would be the way to go...grade 5 bolts in my opinion should be strong enough, that's what the factory used...I just drilled out my original hangers to the correct size....slide the bolt and nut into the bracket and test fit before installing the springs...

I'm "that guy". You know, the one that would actually carry the leaf spring into the hardware store to find just the right bolt.

Being "that guy" has saved me hundreds of extra trips to the store over the years.
