Rob you're gonna put someone's eye out with those things if you're not careful !

So how cheap & nasty is cheap & nasty gonna be? Before I answer that, here's my first mod. See that hole in the middle of the main oil passage plug? It's a little big, ain't it? That's cause it's a beeotch to drill a .040" hole without the bit breaking. So, my solution is to tap it to 1/4 x 32 UNF and screw a Holley .040" main jet into it. Problem solved and the timing chain now has pressurized oil.

Now on to the cheapness.
Here's one of the original 1966 date coded main bearings.

Purdy, ain't it? They all are just that good. So are all of the rod bearings. So yeah, you guessed it. They're goin back in.

Here is cheap & nasty sittin on one of the dollies I made from a Harbor Freight furniture dolly. I got several on sale when they were under 10 bucks each. I reinforced the crap out of all of them with 1 x 4s and came back over those with a piece of 3/4" plywood. I have two more to do. Thanks to @krazykuda for that. Thanks Karl!

Will that drilled oil passage plug change the oil pressure values in any way?

It certainly would if I left it the size it is now. When I add the Holley jet, it won't make an appreciable difference. I run the big block high pressure spring in the stock oil pump anyway, so any pressure loss will be retained. There will be nothing for a loss though, with only a .040" hole.

Rusty, we almost didn't recognize you with your new profile picture. Looks like the chest enhancement surgery went well:poke:

Nah, but Rob's got so many Slanty projects going at once, that He's decided to color-code them.....
That's not a bad idea. I did it without realizing it. Vixen's present motor is red. The closed chamber head motor is Hemi Orange and Cheap & Nasty is green. I have several more under the work table. lol
