Somewhere in time
Well I figure I'll remake a resto thread of my dart in hopes of people being able to gain inspiration or seen that doing this stuff isnt that hard.
Right here we have a prestine '67 Dodge Dart GT! Now wait a minute, the title clearly says '68 so something aint right here! Well, I've always loved the '68 year more than the others and this car came with more '68 parts than '67 cept the interior but 70% of that is being replaced anyways.
As you can see this car really has no good side (had just gotten it home and it found a way to bug me already). So, short rundown is I picked 'er up south of me 4 hours away in Canmore for $1500 from a guy who took it as payment for a body job he did on a guys truck. The previous owner wanted to clone to a '68 so that made my job easier. Somewhere in its life it was hit in the quarter and I assume a insureance company repaired it (bondo bondo bondo) and then some other goofball went and scratched the hell out of the quarter later. The worst of the car was that it was supposedly stuck real good and someone elce decided that putting a hook in the bumper mount hole and pulling it with a tractor was a good idea ('ey, she was not) so the front rail has a big hole out of it and the inners and rad support are ugly.
Yeeeeeeh, thats a lot of cons there, aint lookin so good cap'n! Well, for $1500, with $400 rims, solid-ish (explaned later) floors, absolutely no rust at all (save one section that isnt bad at all), 95% of the parts (really nice ones at that), and in canada, I'd say I hit a small jackpot.
Aint too bad up in 'ere, dash is super nice, seats are too but they show their age
Not going to see it like this for a loooong time
So we dumped it in the garage
Took it apart
Removed the boat anchor
Bought a parts car
Removed more parts
Chopped the inners off and the front section
Got it all leveled and began building a roller
Turned out pretty nice
Works great too
Got everything blasted
Started stripping paint
Most of it is off
Cut the front off the parts car
And lined it all up
Most recently the quarter has been cut out
All of this is over a span of 7 months with football and school going on. Still have plenty of stuff to do. Its called Project Satan because its going to be all red and black, real evil looking. It will have a R5P7, custom tubular front suspension (not magnum or rms), 4 link rear with ford 9, and a turbo 400 trans.
