Hi Folks

Just the facts mam.......1971 demon with power Kelsey Hayes disc brakes and a Weatherhead proportioning valve.

I rebuilt the valve using the Muscle Car research LLC kit. With the engine out, I have been struggling with the sealing ring on the top fitting. I have tried several washers, tried annealing it, tried various torquing.......I thought it was solved on my last go around, so I installed the engine, and front suspension and now the F'n thing is still leaking. All of the flared fittings are dry as a bone. I really don't relish removing all of the freshly bent lines and swapping out the complete valve with the limited work space now.........Any suggestions?

I may have one I took off my car disc front rear drum power assisted

I had the same issue. My friend took a hair of the top. The rough casting was just enough to course it not to seal.

The aftermarket one are not good either. They are leakers also.

I had one his leak there too. When I spoke to him he said to just throw a wrench on it and tighten more than you think is necessary until it kind a chirps (ie is very tight) and it should stop. It did.

On another note though I found that there isn’t much proportioning on it. The rears in that car will lock up before the front. In fact I can’t get the front to lock up at all.
Its his 2 post master 15/16 bore, his 73 and up A body one piece pro valve, new Kelsey 4 piston brakes, and oem 2"w x10" rear drums. Not that happy. Going to change out to oem pro valve and oem big bolt pattern stuff soon on that car…
