Good luck with the build, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I love seeing PT A bodies. Really looking forward to more of this build. Looking forward to starting mine this holiday season as well...

OK - here's what I'm starting with. It's a shell that's essentially been sitting for the past, oh, 20 years.

Looks like you have your work cut out for you, better get busy..LOL

She's gonna need a little work!! I'd definately start with fitting the doors since it has been sitting for so long without a floor like that.

We found the VIN plate and Trim plates. All along We thought it was a '64. Turns out it's a 65. First three digits of the VIN are V85, making it a '65. Sig already changed! More car **** coming today - will shoot some pics of the new wheels/tires.

i had this one painted huger orange in1968 pither taken 1973. i had a lot of fun with it beating a lot of cars that didnt think i could.

OK - heres some car **** for ya all. Here's the tires and wheels. First, the rears: 18x10 Torq Thrust 'M' with Goodyear F1 295/35's. The rears are anthracite, but will be painted black. Black 18x10's not available in any AR warehouses, with no ETA available.

Our first shot at getting an idea of the ride we're looking for. Coulnt get the rear low enough with the stock rear wells. Front is sitting a bit high here as well:

Right now, it's no different than stock, which is why I can't get it ias low as I want in these pics due to the fact that the wheel is hitting the iner fender. It's going to be mini-tubbed, but first, the entire car is gonna be soda blasted.

"Unfortunately, the stable is not quite ready for the 'Cuda. Drywall is still going up, and the place is quite a mess." You have no idea what a real mess is. Looks like a great project.

Trivia time....It's a great name for a Mopar. Back in the '60's there was a S/S '62 (I think that's the correct year) Dodge Dart station wagon that campaigned under the name the Orange Crate. On of the model mfr's. made a kit out of it...believe it was Revell.

My dad ran that car in the early 70's, never knew there was ever a model made!

sorry to be off topic

The Revell Orange Crate model was of a 32 Ford sedan show car on the show circuit in the late 60's.

Ok - well, spring is here, the basement's nearly done, and it's time to get going on the Barracuda again.

So, to get things started, I got me a HEMI! A great deal on a 0 mile 2008 "DR" version of the 5.7L, and I only had to drive two hours south to get it. Not too bad - I'm pretty happy that I was able to find a BRAND NEW engine for the project.

All loaded on the trailer - ready to make the trip home.

Need to pull the intake off so that the chain doesn't bust up anything on the intake. It also revealed it an MDS engine.

A bit blurry, but soon they will be one.

Tin:

THis came with an engine harness and ECU - but the guy that sold it to me stated that he had to take the harness apart and modify it significantly. He also stated the ECU is blank, and is only useful if using the electronic trans along with the 5.7L. What did you wind up using for your app?

I have ordered a custom harness and an ECU from Street & Performance. I did not have an ECU, perhaps you could just have yours flashed. As for the harness, I have seen many people try to use the factory harness with little to no success, so I decided to just bite the bullit and get the custom one. ( If you need another factory one, let me know, I have a brand new one)

If anyone in the northeast is looking for a 5.7L hemi, the guy I bought mine from has another he wants to get rid of (He bought a skid of 5 from a closed truck plant in Indiana). $2800 seems like a great deal to me for a 0 miles 5.7L. He's done the 5.7L swap on three cars already, and is working on his fourth.

Very nice car! and cool engine! I definitely want one of those 5.7 Hemi's...BUT I would put it in my old pickup truck, because I need an engine for it...$2800 is a good price!

Here's some updated pics of the Art Morrison Max-G Chassis.
