well she is still plugging along.(15 years old at the end of this month) . been a long time sice i updated this thread.. she is now a petty officer 3rd class. working on the coruce work to becaome a petty officer 2nd class. she is the highest ranking female in her unit wich is cool.. she out ranks other kids that have been in longer because she does her course work and does more then enough advancement training every year. i hope one day she will appreciaye and understand the opportunities she got while growing up. she gets (i think she does) it to a point now but i think it will really sink in as she gets older..
she did honor guard training on the USS New Jersy battle ship.
here she at a charity golf outting. the first all girl color guard in her unit.. they did awesome considering they had a weeks notice and have never done it before together. she is the short rifle person..
since thursday she has been aboard the SS John Bwown ( a WWII liberty ship) for training. they learn all the systems.. she is a staff cadet this training which givers here some more responsibility. can;t wait to hear how it goes.. thismorning at about 9am they shoved off.
she got asked to do color guard for wreaths across America today. looks so cool in her dress blues. she looks so tiny with the other three being so tall. she also got to teach the other cadets a couple of things about what to do. her chief petty officer knowing that she is the only one in her unit that went to honor guard training asked her show them what to do. she was all excited to finally be able to teach a little honor guard. this kid works her *** off. super proud of her.
