Pulley ID thread

This needs a bump and should be in the How-to section for reference...

Good info. Awhile back i had a 77 SB power steering. non A/C crank pulley that the power steering groove was bent flat. It was on the 360 core i bought to rebuild. I cut the PS groove off making it an alternator only pulley.

Its modified dimensions match your 70 up single groove crank pulley, so now i know this one i made/modified should work on a 70 up pulley setup without power steering.

Heres pix

Here is a rather unusual cast iron small block pulley.

It was found on a 1970 small block & had been added on in front of the stock crankshaft pulley.

It is part of an 'add on' Air Conditioning kit. The name ' RIGIKING ' is cast into it along with the number 9117618 while the paint applied number is 91-17619 ;

Interesting, I have one that looks strikingly like that one. I found mine on a 1962 413

Cool. The more info posted, the better!

It may help people in the future when they Google a pulley number and / or specific application.

Well, I just remembered that both of my 273's (factory A/C~P/S cars) had small diameter water pump pulleys. I think that's related to the fact that they WERE factory A/C~P/S optioned cars, and this is back on the cast iron water pump cars. I don't have one of these pulleys in my stash right now, but maybe if someone else does, they can post a pic with dimensions.

Also, if you think about it, that smaller diameter water pump pulley will spin faster......probably for a logical reason.
Been doing this for years with fluid dampers for alignment. I still have it on to run just the alternator. But I shut the GM single wire alternator off with a solenoid.
