I recently bought a purple shaft Cam and lifters from eBay and when I open the box that shaft is not . should I be worried that I got ripped off? Also I had a set of lunati micro troll lifters on the shelf and wondering if they're better than the Mopar performance tappets or or or should I just stick with the MP lifters

Exactly.. it's not painted purple.. I had a purple shaft that i bought years ago, and it was painted purple.. But, the one i just bought does have the exact samecasting marks in various places in the cam On the ends and in between the lobes. I'll try to upload some pics of each.

Purple shafts are probably just a namesake now for a Mopar grind. They sourced any maker to make them to their specs so it may or may not be 'purple' in color. I wouldnt sweat it.

The newer purple shafts, are not painted purple anymore.

Edit: I should have said the new Purple Shafts from Mopar Performance.

My 1st mopar cam the 280° was purple. Now installed the 292° cam and it barely had purple almost none.
