Pushrod- these are NO good

That is the Sealed Power/Melling Hi-Rev lifter. Have an 'R' after the part #, exactly the same as the std lifter except for the stronger circlip.
 
Those lifters are reboxed by several vendors, but I believe the only “manufacturer” that uses that style of retaining device is Hylift Johnson.
 
Unfortunately, there are more re-boxed lifters than you care to count.
 
They are all re-boxed. No cam company makes it's own lifters....
 
Buy a good set of hardened one stop wasting money on stock ones
 
I got a set of lifters that were PAW (Performance Automotive Warehouse for all the young people) brand anti pump up lifters a long time ago that had that kind of retainers.
 
I just pulled them out and they are all straight and the cup ends are looking good until I checked the ball end and they all have same flat spot, these don’t look good. I’m making a cam change going a couple sizes bigger and I was hoping that I could use them, but after seeing this I have my doubts now. Which brand or mfg are you using?

I hate to be that guy...not really. There is nothing wrong with that. Lol the fact that you are in the guts and don't known that is descriptive. A cam upgrade, a few sizes bigger! Never change a cam without proper supporting components, it's the heart and brain of the engine. Chrome molly pushrods!!! Always, crane,comp,jessel, t&d are all good like most. If one cuts corners or is cheep in this hobby, the inevitable is on its way to your garage. If your valve train did that you would know it before looking for the 7 sixteenth. As I say friends GOOGLE is not experiencing, it's ignorance.
 
What is your camshaft information. Is it a stock cam or something else from a different company. What type of rockers are you using. Stock Mopar rockers or aftermarket ones. This all plays a part in the valve train system.
 
Hard to get good pushrods without oiling. But Melling has one thats advertised up to 350 pounds spring pressure. After that there is Comp cams magnumseries rods, but they are not in stock right now.

You can surely order them. Try oepushrods.com if you can get them to take your order, or Smith bros for good service + higher prices than oepushrods.

Ordering from oepushrods takes several calls in my experience. It seems to me that they just aren't set up to sell to consumers.

I have to kinda disagree with that. I prefer non hardened stock type pushrods. Some have disagreed with me, but I'll tell you why I prefer them. If something is GONNA bend, what would you rather it be? A pushrod, or a valve? I know what my answer is.

I’m not sure what you are asking or who are you asking? If it’s me, I haven’t chosen a specific cam to purchase yet and the cam I will be replacing, even though it has a part number on it, it may be a reground cam so I don’t know exactly what it is.
Rockers are adjustable 273 type.

RRR - I agree with this, bent pushrod is better than a bent valve.

I guess I need to choose my words more carefully, when I had said “couple of sizes bigger”, I still had NO idea what the current size cam I just removed from my motor is that I want to replace. Yes I understand that all the supporting components need to be in harmony but there is some leeway on certain things. The problem I am having is that I have been doing all my own tear down and repair and rebuilding my engines since the 1960’s but now that I’m in my mid 70’s I am occasionally second guessing my self, so I am asking questions.

Currently other items that were on the motor were a
RPM intake, AVS2 650 or I also have AVS2 800 carb if needed. Also 727 trans, 373 or 391 rear, not sure which yet, MSD dist and 6AL box.
 
What are the cam spec.

That’s for a big block but that’s what I’m asking for. I build a lot performance engines for my own use and for other people. I seen the issue that’s why I asked you for the cam information
 
From the recommendation of the 30+ year engine builder: I reused mine that looked much worst than these. Was reassured by two additional independent sources that mine were good to run. Sorry no images available. Been working this engine for a couple of months now.
