PVC "valve hose" / valve cover breather hose

I need to replace the PCV valve and the valve cover breather. The hose that leads from the PCV valve to the carb turned into a swiss cheese when I removed it so I need a new one. Can I use any hose for that purpose? Same question for the hose that leads from the breather to the air filter box.

There is special PCV hose. Fuel line hose breaks down from the oil, gets real soft.

I believe the valve cover breather is filled with wire mesh. You may just be able to clean it by spraying inside with something like brake clean.

I'd run a draft tube if the engine was setup for it.

I forgot about that. i just remember some of Dad's cars had them, but he always used good Diesel oil, he was a farmer.

I used regular heater hose for the hose from the valve cover breather to the air cleaner and 3/8 fuel hose for the PCV hose. Not correct, but it works and has been on there about three years.
