I have a electric craftsman compressor that finally gave up building compression.

I tore it apart to find the piston and compression ring was worn and scored itself and the cheap cyllinder.

This part kit should bring it back to new life but i was just wondering if I had to put any oil in the cyllinder wall or would I be wasting my time and ruin it with oil?

Here is the parts kit.

If it's an oil type compressor (has oil in the cranckase) then yep, and hone it too. The oil-less type has some kind of plastic rings that don't need oil on the cylinder walls and don't hone it.

Do not add any oil to it. If you do it will just attract dirt and wear it out that much faster. That is what kills these oilless compressors but the good thing is they are cheap and easy to rebuild.
