quarter window weatherstripping question

hi. im trying to put together the quarter windows in my demon but i have this gap on both sides at the top of the seal to the window. is this normal? is there something that im missing or did both of my seals shrink ? :S

My passenger side quarter window has that gap at the top too. Seals have never been replaced that I know of. I forgot all about it, until I read this...

Do you have adjustable stops in the track rails inside the door?

I would say they have shrunk as mine go to the edge.

i would like to order new ones but i have learned that they are all out of stock because of a retooling. so i am wondering to anyone that has used the older ones, was there anything wrong with them? im curious as to what they are retooling? should i wait for the new version or try and find a set of the 1st versions?
