actually i guess to be more correct this is actually about the nuts that go on the rods.
I have been doing 'refresh' on a 318 and I pulled the rod ends off to inspect the bearings. When I was putting them back on I noticed that I had three nuts that were a different material they looked like brass or copper. They were about the same color as a copper pipe.
I didn't notice when i was removing them because of all the oil that was on them. But I am wondering now
1. why are they different
2. are they supposed to go in a specific location, I guess for balancing??
I just wanted to double check, because I know they aren't back on in the same spot. So if they have to be I need to know where they go! I didn't put my oil pan on yet so I still have a chance to fix them if need be.
Thanks!
