Question on 1965 Dart GT Charger

-
After 60 + inches of snow this winter got to finally pull the Dart out this weekend. The car was buried under 60 inches of boxes from the internet and FABO. Not quite like digging through a junk yard.

Rust was on the floor board just behind the drivers side torsion bar mount just below the upper floor pan seam (approximately behind the brake pedal).

Thank you.

This 65 Dart Charger had fiberglass doors, hood, trunk and no mention of floorpans.

Don Garlits bought and ran it in '66 initially as Polka Dart and later as Don Garlits' Dart before his driver crashed ~173 MPH. 426 Hemi in back seat. It's record was ~171 MPH.

The car was delivered to Marked Tree, AR, (Marked.Tree Motor Company) September, 1964 from the St. Louis plant. Last night it shared the driveway with my 2005 St. Louis built mini van. The St. Louis plant was torn down in 2009/2010ish, (about the same time as the Newark DE assembly plant.

Didn't confirm the original owner, but until he got his 70 Mustang, I think this was his ride at George Ray's, Paragould, AR. (Ask (or follow) memike for directions?)

8 months after I hurriedly pulled the trim off to get the car to the body shop (before end of summer vacation last year), thinking two weeks, no problem; my wife follows me home from the body shop last night (no lights, tail lights, bumpers etc) and asks if I labeled the trim for re-installation, and I'm thinking, where did I even put the unlabeled trim?

Going to front disk with dual master cylinder. Will see how it goes. I only went a couple of miles Saturday and decided it was time. Beautiful day, but not feeling it with the single circuit brakes. Collected most parts.

Congrats on continued progress! Good move on brake upgrade. Not original, but much safer/more reliable for a driver that's not a trailer queen!
