ok i think my 7 1/4 is dead cause any time i drive it it makes some horrible noises and shakes the sound is like a metal stick being pushed into the ring????

sooo..... what rear end swaps in with out having to change to much???

The easiest thing to find is the 8 1/4, which is the first rearend upgrade that did to my 64 Valiant. It's a bolt in deal and easy to find, that's why I said easiest. The 8 3/4's are nice in the fact that you can drop the pumpkin out to swap gear ratios.

8 1/4 is the easiest to find, but what bolt pattern rear do you have now?

If you switch to an 8 1/4 you will end up with the 4.5 pattern.

i have the 5 on 4" but this summer i am swaping to discs up front so i may have to do the 8 1/4 to match the rims....

oh and i found out what was up with my diff..... it was OUT like completly out of oil,so i droped the cover and cleaned out all the sludge and put in some fresh 80-90 and all is good so far
