I put some 245/60/14's on a 7" rim/4.5 B.S. under my 68 Dart. Stock width 8 1/4 A body rear end. They fit real nice. Maybe a little closer than I'd like....but nice.

15 X 7 steel wheels, 4" backspace. I'm running 235/70/15. I was more concerned about filling the wheel well than width. Does have about an inch
from the bulge of the tire to the spring and maybe 1/2" between the bulge of the tire and the lip of the quarter panel.
