Our 8 year old cat Loki died sometime today while Grace and I were at work. I found him when I got home, there was no evidence of anything so we have no idea what happened to him. He had been an indoor pet all his life, so it couldn't have been anything to do with the outside world. He was the first cat my wife and I picked from the litter, and was the favored one. I want to think he lived a fun and fruitful life with us and that he knew he was loved. He taught me to play "fetch" with him at a very early age, and every time I asked him about his "mouse" his eyes lit up and he brought it to me. I know I'm probably rambling, but his passing has left a huge hole in my heart. We also have his brother and sister who are the same age, and they are walking around trying to figure out what has happened.

We lost one that was only 8 years old to cancer about a year ago. It exploded in his stomach. We also weren't sure why he died, so we had an autopsy done. The vet sais that there was nothig that we could have done to save him.

Sorry about your loss.

Remember that the happiness of having them all of the years is much better than not knowing them at all and dealing with the pain of their loss.

My condolences

I've lost two, always tough. My third was an "accident" a stray to a family, and she didn't get along with the existing cats and dogs of their family

She follows me around the house everywhere.

My condolences Bill, sorry to hear about Loki

Sorry for your loss. They are def part of your family for sure. Hang in there.

That makes three in the past few months.

Sorry, man.

never easy

Sorry to hear. That was a great cat to play fetch. Mine just looks at me like i,m crazy

Sorry to hear of your loss. Our pets, are just like our kids. Too bad they don't live as long, but they do enhance our lives while we have them.

What a shame, but it may have been in pain before. Wife's childhood dog was diagnosed with a mass in her stomach after not eating and 5 days later she passed. Pets are Family too. Very sorry.

Sucks to lose good pets.

I had a 18 year old Tom cat named Kitty boy, he was the bad cat on the block and could scrap with the young cats and send them home sore losers until he got poisoned with that bad cat food that was going around and his kidneys failed.
sucked to see him so old and on top of his game then laying off all by himself just waiting to die.
I wanted to have him put down so he did not suffer but you know Women never friggin listen so he suffered for about 3 more weeks

Man Im really sorry to hear that. We had to put ours down few months ago. My wife had Bubba(he was a 16 pound Manx)when we first met, I didn't like him he didn't like me. Over time he became my buddy followed me every place. Really tore me up to put him down.

Sorry to hear about your cat. Losing a pet is always hard.

Unconditional love comes from our friend we see at our feet that can not speak our language, So sorry to see this happening to anyone.
