Hi All,

Just wondering if an R3 block has provision to attach a mechanical fuel pump.

Thanks.

the fuel pump connects on the timing chain cover...not the block

The fuel pump mounts on the timing cover, So earlier timing covers would have the provisions for the pump, and you can still find new timing covers with the provisions for a mechanical pump, but then the cam will have to have the provisions for the mechanical fuel pump. Thanks Webby.

The NASCAR stuff all used mechanical fuel pumps so yes it can be done no matter what deck height, also shows that the larger cam cores had a fuel pump provision.

OK thanks for the replies.
I'm still learning about the Mopar motors

I need to upgrade the pump on my 360, I want a mechanical pump with a big flow rate that I can put on the new motor when I eventually have it built.
We will use an R3 block for the new motor.

Can anyone recommend a high flow mechanical pump ?

Carter and Holley make some high rate pumps. What type of flow is needed?
