Hey All:

If I'm going to keep racing the car, I'm getting rid of this bench seat. With the shifter location it makes the posture impossible, and I'm sure its also ridiculous heavy.

Anybody ever install poly seats in a Dart? I'd rather not butcher the floorpan if that's an option.

What did you do for belts?

Steve

Steve, I just used the bracket kits for my summit race seats, I just used the factory belts (Hip belts) & slipped them through the side slots on the seats, I also bought covers for the seats, If i remember i used the 2 factory holes on each side that the bench bolted in, Make sure & use large washers for support so the bolts don't tear through after time, I used the 4 nuts from the bench seat, they have wide washers on them, then used 4 other bolts & lock washers & blue lock tight.

You'll see just how heavy that bench seat is :glasses7:.

Here is a picture of summit seats and their aluminum tracks in my duster.
They are alot more comfortable than the poly ones.
I have an extra set of poly ones, but shipping would probably kill any deal.
I have not yet put any belts in the car, still looking for a factory stock set.

Thanks guys. How many holes did you have to drill?

Joedust, did you use the adjustable brackets or non-adjustable?

I'm going to have to drill new holes for my shifter to move it back. Ugh.

Thanks,

Steve

Didn't use the adj. brackets, just positioned the seat where i wanted it & drilled the holes, I was looking for least weight as possible, I only drilled 4 extra holes, 2 on each side, If memory serves me, i also used a few strips of aluminum flat stock for better leveling, but i've installed these type seats in 3 different Mopars, One of them i used the adj. bracket & wasn't too impressed with it, just need to get creative so you don't butcher up the floor with too many holes.

Sucks you need to move the shifter back, Now you see where my is at, you weigh about like me, I'm 5'9", maybe you'll be ok where its at with the new seats.
