7/16 OSB. I have it off the concrete 3/4in. Like you would do with sheetrock.

If you live in a warm climate. Foil works best with a minimum 1 inch air space. If you have easy access iwould install it 1 inch below your roof decking.. Then I would insulate the ceiling with a foot of fiberglass or blowin. . This would give you the best bang for the buck to stay cooler,next to spray foam. Side walls finished,you could use foil for the vapor barrier with fiberglass.and one inch air space raises the r value over 4. Lots of variables.Good luck

I insulated and sheet rocked my shop and I’d never do that again. I would still insulate it but I’d use OSB in a nanosecond. Sheet rock is a PITA.

I did use OSB. I meant I just spaced it off the floor like sheetrock.

Been there, done that!!!
Mom always told me back when I was a kid " Don't you die of a heat stroke"!!!!!
She also said, " what doesn't kill you, will just make ya stronger"

I asked how she knew what it tasted like, that is horse piss? Said here are some things you learn on a farm with 9 other brothers and sisters. (Yes they farmed with horses and mules back then.)

I used it on the inside walls of mine on the recommendation of a longtime contractor I know. Its spaced off the floor 3/4 of an inch so its not sitting on the concrete. I love the stuff, as said its super strong and I can hang anything anywhere. I have had no issues with it for three years but again, I am not a carpenter so is there something I am missing?

Nothings wrong with OSB when applied correctly
Had it in my old shop now over 18 years old , still going strong.
Have it in my new shop 5 years now , working great.

ii had a 30x50 with 12' walls and 16'ish at the peak wood fram and metal siding. I used the prodex from the link.

I I stapled it floor to ceiling and taped the seams with foil tape.

I think it helped somewhat with keeping the mid day Houston heat out, but it certainly cut down on the drafts through the metal siding,.but if I were to do it again, and could afford it, I would use the bat insulation.

it for sure brightened it up inside though!

I'll be buying some batt insulation I think each month until I get it done. Seems that's the best choice, since I can do it a little at a time. I sure appreciate all of you responding.
 
Closed cell spray foam , not open cell is without a doubt the best insulation available for a metal building. However you have 4 issues , Cost close to $2.50 per square foot now , extremely flammable , ultraviolet light breaks it down and it´s ugly as hell . Open cell is no good in a metal bldg. as it is not a vapor barrier .

extremely flammable..... so is gasoline and brake cleaner and paint thinner, if have oxy acetylene like I do , that stuff can explode and burn very efficiently!!
"ultraviolet light breaks it down"....................Not if you coat it with sun blocker, SPF 50!!!:rofl::poke::realcrazy:
