Car is a 67 Barracuda, 273 2bbl. No factory air, but an aftermarket A/C was installed by former owner.

The radiator is Chrysler-branded. The upper hose connection is on the passenger side of the tank. All the photos I see of engine compartments with non-A/C cars show the upper hose connection on the driver side of the tank. I bought a non-A/C pre-formed replacement upper hose and it did not fit. I'm trying to understand why so I can buy the right hose.

I wonder if the former owner put in a factory A/C radiator when the aftermarket A/C unit was installed. Those of you with factory air- where is the upper radiator hose connection?

You have a radiator for a slant 6 car. the correct number would be 38086.
Whats the number on yours ?

Mystery may be solved.

The number on the radiator top tank is 38086, radiator is 22" wide, so not a 19" slant 6 radiator.

It looks like when the aftermarket A/C was installed, the original hose route had a compressor smack in the way. So, the original radiator inlet hose fitting was cut off, a plug soldered into the hole and a new inlet attached to the passenger side of the tank.

No wonder I have to modify what is supposed to be the correct hose.
