I only drove my car a couple of times at night after buying it in November. I found the gauge lighting to be dim. Maybe I'm to used to new stuff, LOL. I guess I really don't know if all my lights were working correctly or not before I took it all apart for restoration.

What I'm wondering is, those of you who utilize all their stock gauges including tach, do you find your stock lighting to be good? If not, what are you doing to make it brighter?

Thanks in advance for you opinions.

They are a little dim compared to new stuff arent they. I got me a 70 amp internaly regulated alternator that is suppsused to make the lights brighter. I will get to putting it on one of these days. LOL The down side is you have to buypass the stock alternator guage.

I've used the LED 194 bulbs. They do help. Don't use them on the blinkers though.

Several companys on the web sell them. Maybe even ebay.

Aloha!

I switched to 168 bulbs which are brighter than the specified 194's and it is much better.

I solder a jumper on the headlight switch to bypass the dimmer reostat.
I repainted the gauge needles with floresent orange too.
