Does anyone know if the difference between advertised duration and duration@ 0.050 equals the ramp speed?
That being the greater the difference the faster it ramps.
Does that make since, or did i just make it up.
Thanks; Rick

the greater the difference the slower the ramp, the less aggressive. over the years cams have gotten more aggressive, but they can be noisier and wear faster

No. That only tells you about the very early stages of the lift cycle. If you really want to get an idea, compare the .050" duration vs the .200" duration.

Thanks fellas,i can put up with the noise running straight 2inch headers. I don't think i'll
hear it.I did have it backwards.
That's a good idea comparing it at .050-.200. I will try and find out on this voodoo-288/296 cam. Then compare it to the XS290S cam for ramp speed.
Thanks a lot; Rick.
