Solid lifters in a 72 dated 318.....In all my years, I didn't know they made some like this in 72
That is an oddball for sure. How this engine sits in a duster in a junk yard with no hood or air cleaner for longer than I have been on earth, yet it's still a good core is beyond me. The bottom end turns, the cam rusted froze, so once I disconnected the timing chain, the crank turns.

Definitely not original- a '72 block, a '69 and earlier iron water pump, and '67 and earlier 273 valve gear... You're not the first one inside that motor! How this engine sits in a duster in a junk yard with no hood or air cleaner for longer than I have been on earth, yet it's still a good core is beyond me. The bottom end turns, the cam rusted froze, so once I disconnected the timing chain, the crank turns.

And stay out !Retro fifties baseball, MLB rarities. On 8-17-57 in a Phillies game against New York at Connie Mack Stadium, a foul ball off the bat of Richie Ashburn breaks the nose of Alice Roth, the wife of an editor for Philadelphia’s Bulletin. During the same at bat, the Phillies leadoff hitter nails her for a second time as she is being carried off on a stretcher View attachment 1715831785View attachment 1715831786
Saw that over on the B side the other day. Interesting ! I remember seeing one made from a 57 Caddie back when I was a kid. Wonder if it's the same company.
