Have seen very few of them myself- but very cool! Have to do a double take when one comes by; a bit louder than a hummingbird. Never knew about them before my wife pointed one out to me.

We occasionally get them in our yard, I think they're pretty neat, but their caterpillars are tomato hornworms. Confirmed by my wife, flower and tree expert!
