F4 Phantoms
For me, a very sad photo to see.
But the Phantom's had a stellar service history.
With over 5,000 produced there were bound to be many scrapped, particularly since they did have a stellar service history meaning the loss numbers were not significant (relative to how many were made). About 15% were lost?
The Phantom that i was the crew chief on 69-370, i found out that it was turned into a drone, then shot down over the Atlantic Ocean, West side of Florida, under missile practice.
Now littering the Atlantic ocean floor, in a bazillion pieces.
The 71 enjoying the new digs....
