IIRC, the purpose of the longbox shape was because the individual tubes were all equal length but because distances from exhaust ports and routing, they ended at different parts of the collector.

Little back ground info

The brick building in the back is a monastery
The youngest nun living there is in her 70s

The have a garden with all sorts of medicinal herbs

That's my boy standing next to a plant in the pain reliever section
I believe it is called cannabis sativa
