Rare M Code 'cuda (?)

No it was a blank page with some Japaneses writing at the top.

Not sure what you are trying to say about the "Cuda" name? It first appeared on a 1969 Barracuda as an option package with it spelled out on the front fender with twin scoops on the hood and a special black out stripe package. So the Cuda was a 69 car which was not an E Body but an A Body. Just my 2 cents
Here is a picture of BB Daves M Code 440 Cuda'

Some E-body folks will be schooled this year at Carlisle. Have talked this plenty and dismissed as a kook! 69 A-Body fish were the first period!

There was a Cuda 340, a Cuda 383 and the infamous 440 Cuda. The factory got it right when they put the 440 ahead on the striping!

With markings!

This Slick Back Barracudas are sweet if I could find that trim I would definitely do a vinyl top.

My 383s FB had a full vinyl top at some point in its life. Surely aftermarket and was ugly. I have all that stainless trim still today in the attic.

Here is a Cuda 383 with one that was in Mobile Al. Last year. Car was great and true to its fender tag!

Sorry the term 'Cuda from Chrysler first arrived in 70. And only to Vcode 440-6. J code 426 hemi. And AAR 340. That's why the word "Barracuda" is badged on 69s and older. I have a 70 vcode. All badging is 'Cuda. (Although they did make Barracudas as well in 70.) The term got thrown around more 72-74.

I know this is nick picking stuff. But in the Purist sence? 'Cuda started in 70.

Shirley your kidding? 'Cuda first arrived in 69 period. It was clearly displayed on the front lower fenders. Not sure what rock you had been living under and woke up in 1970 with no knowledge or memory of previous years. You need to get out of the ice age of the great white north and thaw out in Sunny South Florida so you can know what happen prior to 1970.

Every 70 Plymouth Barracuda "/6, 318, 340, 383, 440. 440-6 or 426" I have ever seen had it script clearly "Barracuda" on the passenger side of the dash pad. So your theory is out the window as only having 'Cuda Badges, as in 70 they are also badged as Barracuda. Sure they had 'Cuda badges on door panels and the rear of the car but was still a Barracuda with a 'Cuda package name plate displayed on the outside of the car.

Bring it on!! So in a purist sense your full of it!!!!!!!!!

I agree with him, I bought a new 1968 barracuda form S fastback in 1968 , it was not called a cuda by anyone, including the dealer , or chrysler , it was barracuda in all the paper work and nomenclature .!
Never heard the term cuda till 1970 when Chrysler came out w/ it -----
M code 69 is the xception.

In 1969 you could get a 340, 383 or even a 440 with 'Cuda Package it was not just a M Code thing. You had to check off a Special " A56, A57 or A13 Code " on the order slip which was clearly marked "'Cuda Package"

No. M code, 383 and 340 were all available as Cudas in 69 as well.

Jee’s With pic’s and all the factory documentation the e-body folks still do not want to accept the fact that 69 rules!

That said, there were some very awesome 70,71 ‘Cudas built! You have to go back to 68 to find the best of the best Barracudas built though! We should all know the SS cars in Barracuda and Dart were the ultimate!

Until maybe! The new cars are making waves!

In 69, Cuda was a cheaper deal as well. You could order the 340 Cuda or 383 Cuda with bench seat and 4speed stick or auto or go bucket and console. It was or could be the stripped budget package with special badging/decals.

The only way with the Formula S was buckets and console regardless of the transmission choice and only 340/383.

Course the 440 Cuda was only available in auto trans but could be ordered as bench or bucket/console if my research is correct.

Only thing I will give the E-Body folks is it became a frontline name option in 70 and beyond.
