Rare Mopar Parts - what would you choose

N.O.S. `67-8 Barracuda hood insert gaskets.

They... just... don't... exsist...... :sad1:

Anybody who complains about hard to find early Barracuda trim bits ought to try to do an early Dart!!! Angled thermostat housings aren't too tough. ANY pre-67 mopar should have one. Much easier to find than correct 65 273 4 barrel kickdown linkage...

it seems like everything for a 66 dart is pretty rare :sad1:

I've noticed that too, i search a tailgate for my wagon, it was over six year when i finally got it, it came from Oregon!
And my other '66 i was trying to find that steering colum which has original automatic "display" and stick, kind of rare piece too.

And my wife's Duster needs shark tooth grille also, and yes, we don't have a 1200 dollars, maybe some day we find one a little bit cheaper...

  and lets not foget crome plated or not piston return spring

well guys i can say that this thread is scareing me a bit as i'm just starting to look at restoring my 65.

You guys are in luck! In my grandpa's old stash of mopar parts in an old pole shed I found most of the stuff everyone is looking for!! Mostly N.O.S. and good used parts. I need to unload this stuff quick so I am willing to sell it cheap!! There is also a complete engine, not sure what it is but 2 carburators, also it has black wrinkle valve covers with spark plugs wires running inside them. I would like $150 for the engine. There are also some aluminum fenders? I am not sure if chrysler made these so I may recycle them with my aluminum cans. Sorry EVILSCAMP, I do not have any muffler bearings. You can get a hold of me at my home phone number 654-32........., wait a minute, I just woke up from a WET DREAM!!!! :toothy7:

i just seen an add in mopar collectors guide for the shark tooth grille,,,,open your wallets,,let the moths out,,,,mopar stuff is comming,,,slowly but surely,,,,,more slow the sure,,and any thing on an early A is almost impossible,,except interior upolstery...but window gaskets,,and such that have never been available are on the way,,,im working with a company on getting the aftermarket windshield gaskets for 63 -66 A bodies made properly,,if any one has an aftermarket gasket you will know what i meen,,they are too short,,from top to bottom, some day A bodies will be respected like E bodies,,,,i just hope there not extinked before that.

Rust free body parts are hard to find, someone should reproduce door skins for A, B, and E bodies. They are very much needed and would cover a lot of years of cars, and be quite universal and would probably be easy to stamp out compared to a challenger fender. The would sell lots of them, because a good door frame is not that hard to come by as opposed to a good complete door assy.

I never seen a duster with a sunroof, I have heard it was an option. That must be rare, never seen a tilt steering column either. But one thing I would like most is a 1973 tach. I think it was dealer installed item on the duster, but never seen one.

Heres my list of "impossible to get dream parts"I would love for my Duster
8 3/4 SBP rear that will not cost me a million dollars
Sharktooth grille that ALSO will not cost me a years salary
sbp disk brake conversion
SBP Cragar SS/Ts
Heres the SS/Ts I would love to have someday

They didn't make an A-body tilt column.....

Windshield rubber and the chrome locking trim for 67 Dart. My convertible just has the locking trim along the bottom it is in good shaper but it has shrunk over time and is about 1/2 short on both ends.
about 15 years ago, saw a sunroof duster in a junk yard, decent shape too, have kicked myself ever since for not buying it.

Took me 12 years to locate the torque thrust wheels in sbp(persistance pays)
And three years to locate the STR12 intake that I run on my 69.

another vote for the plastic grille surrounds for a 69 barracuda that I wont have to take out a bank loan to buy. :glasses9:
