I saw similar things in Hawaii in about 1970 or '71. they were used as tourist taxis I think. Kinda cool but how do you get it in the garage?

if that car was redone it would be cool as hell. i would build a garage just to fit the thing

They also used them as airport shuttles up around NYC.

Yep, that's the nun mobile that was on ebay a while back. If memory serves, it now has a Corvette front end and a Viper engine & trans.
