The square plug you see is where the gear oil goes when its filled. To drain the oil the rear diff cover needs to be removed by taking all the bolts out holding the cover on.

Fill it until the oil just starts to dribble out of the square plug hole. Don’t forget the limited slip additive if it has limited slip.

Ok ..I'm not sure if it has limited slip, how would you tell

Jack it up and spin the tires if they rotate opposite of each other it's an open diff. It they spin the same direction it's limited slip, sure grip or posi or whatever term you want to call it.

I personally prefer the pull the cover and drain method just so I can inspect the diff. And clean it out before adding new fluids. But the pumping out method works well too.

In neutral.... and spin by hand. (Both rear tires off the ground)
I agree with above. Pull the cover off to change the fluid, and find out for sure whether limited slip or not. (If you don't already know otherwise... 95% chance it's open.)

I think it's open , I did post here before about finding out if I had posi , did a burn out an only the right rear tire smoked

Yes! This is what I ment. Thanks for clearing up my post!

Yep it's open then.
There IS a small chance that it is a cone sure grip, with completely wasted cones.... but that's maybe 1%. And that one percent is usually the guy asking..... "I've got a posi, how come only one tire spins?"

Very true

Awww man lol I hope im not that 1% , I was trying to find out in the past post if I had posi or not , so this come you speak about how would I tell ?

People have filled until the oil drools out the fill plug hole for decades, but that's actually incorrect and could lead to an overfill situation. The factory service manual has a spec for the quantity of gear oil to fill it with. That's what I would follow.

Im having an issue with my limited slip when my tires spin it always kicks me sideways I believe I have one side slipping more than the other. I got to dig into that eventually

If it always drifts to the right, it's likely the road crown. Go to a parking lot and try it. It'll still probably drift a little but I bet it's a lot less.

It goes both ways tends to go left more violently when it goes right it's more controllable. If that makes sense

You see in the 2nd video how much I'm counter steering to try and keep it in the road and I eventually let out of it.

I thought you looked familiar, I've watched your videos on YouTube

Both of those were due to road crown. It drifted to the same side of the road.
