If you find an 8 1/4 from an A-body then no changes/modifications are required. There's someone on this site selling a complete 8 1/4 for an A-body in the for sale section. Unless you have a Hemi in your dart, there is no need for a 9 1/4.

a driveshaft for an 8.25" is shorter than for a 7.25", perches for A body rears are the same. narrowing a 9.25" and buying custom axles is not a big deal, and then U can have a custom length for any wheel
