1967 Barracuda body with a 1976 Dodge Aspen 8-1/4 axle.
I'm looking for rear shocks that will fit. So I need to find a shock with the larger loop top and a post bottom.
The Aspen shock is just about what I need (extended length etc), however the loop top diameter is too small.
So far my plan is to use the Barracuda rear shocks, change my brake line and make a bracket to convert the axle to receive a loop type shock.
If anyone knows of a rear shock that would work, instead of making a bracket, that would be awesome! I've done a year of research, to only come to no conclusion, except to make a bracket. :(

And yes. By a stroke of "luck", I picked one of the only 8-1/4 axles with a freaking post receiving bottom I guess. I failed to even think that would be a big problem. :(

check out a rear shock for a 1977 dodge charger or cordoba. they have the post on the bottom and a large eye at the top.

when i went to a longer shock for the rear of the charger, i used two rough country shocks off the front of an XJ jeep cherokee ,3 " lift shocks, of which also have the post type and the larger eye on one end. i had to change the grommet out with the ones off the charger but it may work for you.

Ok. Struck out with the rear shocks. So I went with the old braked idea. So far, this looks like it's going to work just fine. I do need to get a longer brake line, I'm hoping that won't be as difficult a project as locating the freaking shocks.

Fbo can't upload the picture via phone, so if you interested in seeing/critiquing the bracket, you can see it on my FB page: Cricket's 1967 Barracuda
