The rear seal in my transmission is leaking. How easy is this to replace and are they seals readily available?

After the car is in the air safely, you remove the drive shaft and with a pinch bar or pry bar the seal can be removed and with the new in hand and with a large socket or tube ,you can tap the new seal in and reinstall the shaft again and recheck the fluid, mrmopartech

The reason you have to recheck the fluid is because a bunch of it will probably run out onto the ground (or floor, if you have a garage :) ) as soon as you pull the slip yoke out of your transmission. Have a pan ready to catch it.

:burnout:

Jack the car up from the back so the fluid goes towards the front of the car away from the tailshaft. It'll give you more room to get under the car and take the drive shaft loose, too. You should have no problem with fluids. :thumblef:

Yeah I will make sure the back end is higher than the front, been there done that.

That was easy now I just need to figure out the vibration
