Is there a diffrence in length between a drum to drum 7 1/4 and a drum to drum 8 3/4? I was told the 7 1/4 maybe a little shorter is this true and if so by how much?

That "other place" bigblockdart.com has a tech article on the diffrent lengths and several other dimensions.

There is some bad info in that stupid chart on mymopar.

That hunk of shyate has been floating arounf for years. A friend cut a rear to the 8.75 A body length according to that chart.. WRONG!!!

I was wondering length diffrence because I have some 15x8 rallye's with 10 inch wide drag radials on them and the just hit the spring. Was hoping the 8 3/4 would maybe be a little longer than a 7 1/4 cause it has a 7 1/4 now and im switching to 8 3/4

The chart, at least regarding the "all" A-body 8.75 is incorrect, it should read 52.4", not 51.4". The 8.25 is 51.4"!

I did the swap on my duster, from 8.25 to 8.75 width Dana, and I was able to drop the spacers, and still have 1/4" clearance. Below is a shot of the table contained in the ZIP file document on 8.75 rear ends I found last year.
