Having trouble finding a place that will do a high quality rechrome for my 65 Dart rear bumper. Price isn't my problem, I'm more concerned with quality and turnaround.

On E-Bay a company called Tri-City Plating is selling an already chromed piece.

Anyone have an experience with this company?

Tri-City has a good reputation. You're going to have a hard time finding a place that'll do it any cheaper than that on this side of the border. You may want to call them to see if you can get a better deal. Removing ebay from the equation will net them a better return, and they may reduce the price because of it. I'd maybe see if they wanted to buy yours as a core too.

I've got a set of their bumpers on a Duster, great quality and customer service. Turnaround should just be the time it takes to ship since it's already done and posted on eBay.

There are 2 chrome shops in the los angles area.

They go to good guys and to another major swap meet here in Colorado.

You drop your bumper off at one show and pick it up at the other.

I suspect they work WA shows as well.

I dont have their contact info handy but if your interested I'll dig it up.

Right now they each have one of my 67 Dart rear bumpers for straightening, hole filling and re-chroming.

I'll be picking both bumpers up in February and then know which does the best work for the future.

Each bumper was in the $600.00 range.

Here is the info about the chrome companies

This is one in Huntington park

One of them called and let me know the bumper was ready, and asked if I wanted to pick it up in February or have it shipped.

The other has not communicated with me yet.

I dont recall which one.

This will be my first experience with either.

It is unfortunate, but chrome work has gotten very expensive. We just have to deal with it and anticipate it.

Not my experience.

A few years ago the same companies wanted double for the same when I asked

Haven't found anyone near me in Missouri. Contacted tri-city to see about a rear bumper for my 65 Cuda.

Chrome plating went through the roof when the EPA got really stringent about the waste disposal years ago. There were some unscrupulous shops that were just dumping the waste and got caught. Now all of the shops and the customers are paying the price.

Talked to the guy on the phone and I ordered the bumper. He was a pleasure to do business with. The shipping on the core wasn't economically feasible from way out here so I'll just sell the old bumper.

The Portland Swap Meet had 3 different chrome retailers last time I was there, TriCity was one of them.
All 3 had bumpers for my 69 Dart, I bought what I considered best quality, can't remember who, but strongly feel it was Tricity.
They charged me $50 core on each, to be returned when I brought mine back, which I did the next year, no drama.

Or keep it for the future. Once they are gone they don't ever come back.

67 darts are a 1 year only bumper, when ever I see one for the right price I buy it. Right now I have 4 for my 2 converts

What they end up charging you for it?
