recoil bonnet hinges

Can anybody tell me the best way to re coil bonnet hinges , I was going to use a fibreglass hood so I released them but now I am going to use the original hood so I need to coil them up again
 
What are you working on? I have my front hood springs exposed because the fenders are off. I can take a picture. I guess you could count the turns in the spring. Let me know. I have a '68 'Cuda.
 
I am working on my Valiant coupe same as dodge dart , The guards are still on my car but the doors are off so I can get to the springs that way , I thought there might of been some knack or certain way to get the spring wound back around
