^^ in the video I said the water pump and fuel pump was included in the budget, but it was not. Hard to remember everything from 3 years ago... LOL

Love the project and all your videos you do for us “newbies”. They’ve all been super helpful to me at one time or another. I’m a visual learner and watching you do all this stuff on the cheap and putting it in simple terms, encourages me to go out and try it myself. So thank you and keep ‘em comin!

Well done, the basics of these cars is actually straight forward simple. If a knowledgeable person explains it, most with an interest can learn it. For me, the visual learning always reinforces the explanation. Keep em coming! 65'

You should make a pole of a list of upgrades people want to see. Personally I want to see headers and gears but separately to see how much actually improves. Do the gears first I say 3.55s or something like that then run it see what happens. Then add headers and run it again and see if it improves any. I know that is a tall task to ask considering you are over an hour away from the track. But i would like to see what each upgrade actually adds if any.

Thanks for the interest. This stuff is fun to me as well.....
  • I doubt the poll for "people's choice upgrades" will happen. Limited supplies, time, as well as the cost kind of crimps that. I'm not sponsored...LOL
  • Gears will happen, searching now to find a good set of 3.55's or higher numeral. Nothing costly, 741 case and open is fine.
  • Headers maybe. I have a set I saved from the scrap yard... old try-Y's... LOL
  • I always like to see what each item does separately, however, that too is time and cost (about 60 bucks a trip to the track). So, I have to trust my "seat of the pants" feel if it made progress or not on some items.

I completely understand that that why I want you to do it lol jk! I would also like to see some "junkyard" economy bolt ons. Like the junkyard headers maybe a junkyard turbo system? :poke:

Junkyard turbo, extremely doubtful. LOL. Junkyard build?? You might get a bucket full when I "try" to resurrect the rusty 360 that should have been scrapped. LOL

You are running a 2.76 gear right? What are you going to? 3.55? I think you said but what rear end do you have??

going to put a 8.75 in it (replacing a 7.25). I want 3.55's or higher. I don't care what case, and open is fine. I generally hate gears like that for drivers, but just for this project I want 'em :) Maybe I'll find a set at the Mopar swap/show at Dubuque next Sunday?

Once my dart is done (or at least driveable)
I want to do a magnum "junkyard" turbo build I have lots of ideas if I ever get the time and money. I have two magnum engines along with a la 318 to play around with I want to find a roller abody to put it in. If I cant I will probably do it one of my trucks. Like I said time and money. I barely have the time to work on my dart soooooo. Lol

Wish I was going. We have Mopar Max here on Saturday and hosting a drag strip reunion on Sunday.

I think you mean 3.55 or lower, right? The higher the number, the lower the gear ratio. I think you should sling a 3.91 in it. Show these guys what a 318 is really capable of. It would fly.

yes - 3.55 or higher NUMERAL. I'd love to throw 3.91's in it

That would set it on fire.

When I first put my duster together it was 318, 3:91 gear. I was used to running 1/8 mile then one night I took it to the quarter mile and it was floating the valves going thru the lights!! Haha good times!!!!:steering:

You had real short tires on it too.

Right now, I have the choice of whether to cross the line in 2nd or shift to 3rd just before the line... LOL. really doesn't matter on the ET slip, so I shift.

yeah.... lol. It should break every rule in the book and may very well break itself.... LOL. But that will be a different thread on another day... if the rusty cylinder walls will.... never mind :)
