Redemption* Low Dollar 318 getting it's chance

yeah.... lol. It should break every rule in the book and may very well break itself.... LOL. But that will be a different thread on another day... if the rusty cylinder walls will.... never mind :)

They must not be too rusty. It runs.

You can say it. Dingle ball.........

we were speaking of the "360 junkyard build" that I'm going to attempt in the future. The block is just sitting there with rusty cylinders...LOL
I myself JUST picked up a Magnum short block. I think it the numbers say it’s an ‘07 or a ‘01. It was dark out trying to read it. I’m about to re swing in my first 5.9 Magnum engine back into my ‘79 Magnum later this week I think. Humidity drependent, since it effects me so much.

But now I have a second 5.9 prime for the Duster. After a little fix me up on the floors and a front frame rail under where the battery goes.

Edit=Grammar

What heads do you have for your new short block?

In the original thread, some thought I should do a "part 2" and give the low dollar 318 an opportunity..... So I decided that's what I'm going to do. At least, in the very least, gears. So stay tuned! Let's see what she'll do! This video is for YOU! :D

my Low dollar 318 hop-up project
"low dollar 318 hop up" - mission accomplished

Thanks for posting this! As a guy that doesn't have money to throw around, I love seeing stuff like this. Thanks man!

Ok, I have the 8.75 B-body rear end, I have the green bearings from Dr. Diff, and I just ordered U-bolts. I have 15" rallye wheels with 235 60's (they will be heavier than the 14" 205/70's) but will look lots better and provide better traction. Two more pieces needed, the actual center section and a drive shaft that works (might cut the current one down..... I believe 2.5" ??? help me remember???) I also have the cheapo (not even Lakewoods...LOL) slapper bars that I will most likely install with the rear end. Going to a swap meet tomorrow look'n for center section - see what I find :)

well, didn't land anything for this project at the swap meet. Look'n continues....

Hopes are high again. Swap meet in Rockford may produce some gears..??.... Also, may head up to the Jefferson, WI swap meet. That's always fun but I really never buy anything there... either can't find what I'm looking for or it's way over priced or just junk... LOL :D

What a POS. This thing won't pull a greasy string outta a cat's butt. lol

Well, they are known to be pretty tight, though, I do think the frogs is a bit tighter.
I failed that class in High School.... Just saying....

Tomorrow, going to Swap in Rockford. See what prizes we might land! :D :D

I have had no luck at the swap meets the last few years, it seems like the new normal is 66% of retail.

I miss Missouri! Plenty of parts and NO ONE hardly there is silly over prices in general, unless a newbie thinking he will sell some rusty dirty old parts and retire early at 40.

So there is a complete 8.75 B-body ('68-69) with 3.23 open on CL for 300. I've known the guy, he is a known mopar parts dealer, doesn't know the condition. I called and he said he's looking to get out of parts dealing - and offered 250. Nope, 300 firm. About 2 years ago I advertised a 8.75 B-body complete for 200.00. Zero interest. I just won't pay 300 for something that if I wanted to sell I wouldn't get a call for 200. I offered 250 because I want one. LOL. He can keep it. No need, just a want. :)

You know you can use the 65-70 B 8 3/4 on the A body, but I bet you know an A body 8 3/4 will always bring more $$ ! Sorta like an A body A833 4 speed will bring more than a B Body one and if it has the dual deal where it an be used in an E body worth a few more coins also. lol
Parts for Mopar down here in Tx are quite flakey in general to me. Same with Mopar cars.

I listed the 77 Volare wagon in SW Missouri by mistake other month. I was looking at stuff for sale back home on FN Marketplace. At the Mo site I had 18 inquiries the first 2 days , listed it here in Tx and has taken 2 months to get 3 inquiries!!!!!! lol
